Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (alternative to CITB Health and Safety Awareness one day course)  – Who should attend the  course?

The Health and Safety in a Construction Environment one day course is ideal for new starters who will be pursuing a career in the civil engineering and construction industry. The course can also be used in preparation for the CITB Health, safety and environment test or as refresher training.

Course aims:

The Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course introduces the candidate to many aspects of the Health & Safety at Work and is intended help raise safety standards and awareness. The course will give construction operatives an awareness of essential health and safety issues and how health and safety affects their day to day role.

CITB Health and Safety Awareness course content:

Health and Safety in a Construction Environment – Assessment and Certification:

Delegates will be continuously assessed throughout the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course. There will be a multiple-choice test at the end of the course which delegates need to successfully pass.


How to get your Green Card

From 1st July 2014 this course can be taken as part of the qualification for a CSCS Labourers Card (Green Card) together with HS&E test. If you are seeking to secure your Labourer's Card then the process is in 3 stages.

  • Undertake the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Training Course.

  • Apply for your Health, Safety and Environment Touch Screen test.

  • On completing the above successfully you will receive your ID number which allows you to apply for your Card.
