1 Day First Aid at Work (requalification) – suitable for:

This 1 day first aid at Work requalification is a competency based course, which will train delegates in both theoretical and practical aspects of First Aid to the standards required by the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

This 1 Day First Aid at Work (requalification) training course is recommended for all industry sectors were a nominated first aider(s) is required in the workplace. On completion of the course the delegates will be able to carry out their duties as the nominated first aider – this level 3 Award (RQF) qualification is valid for 3 years.

 

Duration:


This First Aid at Work course is delivered over a 12 hour period (Normally 6 hours e-learning and 1 day face to face training). 

 

Course aims:


This course provides essential training for all types of business in both high and low-risk sectors. This course provides a recognised qualification for the delegate as well as equipping them with vital first aid skills

 

Course content:

This training module will provide delegates with the appropriate knowledge and skills needed to deal with a wide variety of emergency first aid situations in a confident manner. The course syllabus will the following topics:

 

  • Role and responsibilities of the first aider

  • Incident and casualty assessment

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Unconscious casualty

  • Management of a seizure

  • Choking

  • Shock

  • Bleeding

  • Minor injuries

  • Accident report form

  • Theory assessment 1 (multiple choice)

  • Respiratory system

  • Hypoxia

  • Chest injuries

  • Asthma and hyperventilation

  • Circulatory system

  • Wounds and Bleeding

  • Eye injuries

  • Fainting

  • Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains

  • Head and spinal injuries

  • Secondary survey

  • Epilepsy and diabetes

  • Theory assessment 2 (multiple choice)
